HOW VEINPLICITY WORKS
What are the device components?
What effect does Veinplicity have on peripheral veins?
This is a normal vein prior to stimulation from the Veinplicity device.
Once the gentle electrical stimulation from Veinplicity is applied to the forearm, both the local and venous blood volume increases and the lumen diameter expands.
At the same time, the vein wall becomes more rigid. This effect enhances the vein's stability and reduces the likelihood of collapse if blood is drawn.
The vein may now be more prominent on the surface of the skin due to the dense muscle tissue below pushing it upwards. This makes palpation easier for practitioners.
* Even after the device has been turned off, these effects continue, as interstitial fluid continues to fill the vein.
How easy is it to use Veinplicity?
Apply the electrodes to palm of hand and bicep; ensure both plugs are
Turn on stimulation and gradually increase until tolerability of patient is reached or fasciculation is observed
Watch for appearance of more prominent veins and then palpate
Switch off the device to stop stimulation
